Yesterday evening I had the opportunity to teach a group of young men considered at risk (all in their teens) about the benefits of yoga and meditation, and even led them through a 30 minute flow. A majority had never done yoga before. We had discussion, and addressed many many questions, before and after the flow. Several experienced a state of relaxation, calm and ease after our practice (Savasana really does the trick!). What a great opportunity to share out even just a taste of what yoga has done for me and my life. Also a chance to sift back through my teacher training notes, books, manuals, and refresh once more some basic concepts that got me hooked in the first place. Om shanti, shanti, shanti. 🙂
